12/28/2022 0 Comments Sony ps3 mac address range![]() ![]() Yes your right, and you router obviously treats the wirless and cable the same. The only way it could do this is by having the same mac for both. It always assigns the DMZ and a the same static address everytime, whether wired or wireless. ![]() Maybe the PS3 turns off one port when another is selected in the settings. ![]() I use wireless for Resistance 2, don't know why it stopped working for wired, but it did. ![]() I am wired and wireless on the same router. This may be true for some routers but not for my DGL-4300. I had thought that with NIC manufacters that each network device has to have its own unique MAC address (since it is like its fingerprint)? And can't you use both of them at the same time by streaming something over the PS3 (through TVeristy, etc.) through the internet on the wired connection while viewing it on the PSP remotely using the wireless connection? I think it's only one, and this is not as dumb as it sounds, because I think they built it so that you can't activate both interfaces at once. Good catch, I completely forgot about the bluetooth inside the machine! 1 for wired, 1 for wireless and one for bluetooth. If you want to get all technical it has 3 mac addresses. Just because you get the same IP address doesn't mean that it only has one MAC address. The DHCP server on my router is set to allocate the IP address manually for my PS3 and whether I'm in Linux or the GameOS, I get the same IP address. My PS3 had a wired connection for Linux and a wireless connection for the GameOS. ![]()
